Grilling Season

We are in the midst of one of the best seasons…  grilling season! There’s so much opportunity for what you can grill— burgers and hot dogs are classics for a reason, but grilling opens up a whole universe of culinary adventures.

Our meat department is full of items great on the grill: stuffed peppers, stuffed burgers, jalapenos wrapped in bacon, marinated chicken, quality steaks, and so much more! Among that is our signature homemade sausage.

If you’re not familiar with our homemade sausage, prepare to meet your new favorite items.

At Caputo’s, we take pride in producing the highest quality and best tasting products. In order to do this, we take a lot of steps to ensure that everything is being done properly and with the best ingredients. One example of this is how we make our sausage.

Our sausage is made in-house daily. The process starts with our old-world tradition of using hand-trimmed lean pork. We mix the pork with our private blend of spices and seasonings, developed specifically for our sausage.

Our recipes and sausage making process have been tested, tweaked, and perfected throughout the years. We believe in transparency, so you can trust that what you’re eating is authentic!

This grilling season, we’re excited to introduce you to some brand new, limited time only items! We have 3 new sausages that you’re going to want to check out

Roasted Red Pepper Sausage

A burst of flavor in every bite! In this sausage, we take our homemade mild sausage and add freshly roasted red peppers and pieces of asiago cheese. The deep sweetness of the roasted red peppers mix perfectly with the tangy sharpness of asiago cheese.

Rapini Sausage

Rapini lovers rejoice! We made a sausage that makes an incredible sausage because it has the meat, veggies, and flavor all in one item. For this sausage, we take our mild sausage as a base and add some flair. We add some extra spices, and herbs as well as the main event- fresh rapini that has been sautéed in olive oil and seasoned with a bit of red pepper.

Margherita Sausage

For this one, think of a margherita pizza in sausage form. We start with our mild sausage as a base and then add the extras. This sausage has fresh basil, tomatoes, mozzarella, and parmesan. The result is a fresh taste of summer in one sausage.

We also have a whole line of new, homemade bratwurst you’ll want to check out too. Jalapeño cheddar-with real chunks of jalapeño-, cheddar, and more!

These new varieties are available this summer only, so make sure you get in and try it out before it’s too late!

So, grab your tongs, get the grill going, and get ready to embrace the joy of grilling season with our brand new sausage varieties.  Happy grilling!

Father’s Day 2025

This Sunday is Father’s Day so let’s take a minute to celebrate the incredible men who have shaped us, guided us, and loved us unconditionally.

Think of the lessons learned: the importance of hard work, the value of integrity, the power of resilience. These aren’t just words; they are the living examples our fathers set for us, day in and day out. They showed us what it means to be responsible, to stand up for what’s right, and to never give up, even when the path is challenging.

Maybe you’re firing up the grill and getting ready for a BBQ, getting ready to golf, or doing whatever dad chooses!  With Father’s Day this Sunday, I can’t help but think of two very important men in my life and in our company. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize my father, Robertino Presta, and grandfather, Angelo Caputo.

Angelo Caputo was not only my grandfather, but an inspiration, another father, and a role model. It is now three years after his passing and his absence is one that is still felt throughout our family every single day.

My grandfather and our patriarch, Angelo Caputo, have always been one of my biggest inspirations. He was a true testament of a hard working, dedicated man. Our whole business is built on his blood, sweat, and tears. Throughout his life, he was faced with challenges time and time again, but never let anything stand between him and his goal. His countless sacrifices and sheer determination led to many of his successes and he took the utmost pride in seeing other people enjoy what he built.

Through all of his accomplishments, his favorite was his family and he was happiest just being together. He was always there for a story, a lesson, a phone call, or an espresso date.  From teaching us how to clean up a produce display or telling us stories from his childhood, he was always there for us and would do anything just to sit with us, share a meal, or go on an ice cream run together.

It still feels impossible that he is no longer with us, but his legacy remains a constant in our lives. The many lessons he taught us are beautiful memories that we will cherish and carry with us forever.

When he made the decision to retire in the 80s and enjoy some well deserved fun, he did so confidently knowing the business was in good hands with my parents.

My father, Robertino, started working at Caputo’s at a very young age. My grandfather originally hired him because of his strength and work ethic. You can get a sense of this work ethic from any encounter with him. He always has the mentality that no job or task is below him and has taught all of us the same– to step in during any task and not be afraid to get our hands dirty. He embraces all challenges head on and will often find new, unique, and more efficient ways to get past any challenge. He always encourages us to persevere and take on any new task, even if we are uncomfortable. He knows the value in making mistakes and turns them into learning lessons.

My dad has helped our family and the business grow, taking us to levels that our family, especially Nonno Angelo, never thought were imaginable for a business that started by selling produce in a small garage type store front. Each step and new chapter is still based on the foundation instilled in him by my grandparents and constantly re-enforced by my mom.

To all the dads and father figures who show up, provide, and love unconditionally—thank you. Your presence makes all the difference. Wishing you a day filled with joy, relaxation, and appreciation. Happy Father’s Day!

Homemade Bocconcini

If you have never tasted our homemade bocconcini, then the deli should be the first stop on your next visit. Bocconcini are small, fresh mozzarella balls. This is a homemade hand stretched mozzarella that is crafted in house every day. We start by heating mozzarella curd and stretching or kneading until it’s smooth and pliable, then tie it into knots. It is a delicate and perfect bite every time!

Sartori Snack Bites

Sartori’s new Snack Bites are a convenient, individually wrapped format of two of their popular Wisconsin-made cheddar cheeses: MontAmoré Cheddar and Italian Herb Cheddar. The MontAmore Cheddar is a creamy white cheddar that offers surprising parmesan notes, sometimes with a subtle sweetness and a tangy finish. The Italian Herb Cheddar is a sharp and buttery cheddar combined with a savory burst of Italian herbs, lemon peel, and even a hint of pepper at the rind. It offers a complex, herbaceous flavor upfront that gives way to the tangy-sharp cheddar and finishes with a creamy texture. They’re designed for on-the-go snacking or easy inclusion in a cheese board

Somerdale Blueberry Wensleydale

Somerdale Blueberry Wensleydale is a delightful and popular British cheese that combines the creamy, mild, and slightly acidic characteristics of traditional Wensleydale cheese with the sweet and tangy notes of dried blueberries. The already slightly dry and crumbly cheese gets blended with blueberries for a gentle, balanced, and tangy cheese!

Auricchio Gorgonzola

From Italy, Auricchio’s D.O.P gorgonzola is a quality and authentic gorgonzola. It is wet and creamy with a nice tangy finish. Perfectly balanced to spread or top a burger

12 month Manchego

From Spain, this is one of the World’s most well known cheeses by name. This 100% sheep’s milk cheese is salty and slightly creamy, but with a slightly sweet finish. You might notice small, crunchy protein crystals (tyrosine) throughout the paste, which are a sign of extended aging. Pairs well with Prosciutto, quince paste and nuts.

Barbers 1833 Cheddar

This perfectly aged 20 month cheddar comes from the actual Cheddar region in England. It is creamy and complex thanks to a little bit of tang amongst the sweet notes. It has the savory depth of a full bodied cheddar while still boasting sweet undertones. It features naturally occurring calcium lactate crystals, which provide a pleasing and distinctive “crunch” that is highly sought after in aged cheddars.

Fromage Affinois

This Double cream Brie from France is so Lucious that you will think it is a triple cream! It uses a specific process that involves filtering the milk, a concentrated aging process, and a unique texture. It is known for its exceptionally mild, sweet, and buttery flavor, but has a cleaner finish than other bries.
